Laser Marking Services Near Wokingham on Stainless Steel Aerospace Parts – Glentworth Precision Engineering UK Ltd
In this case study we visit our customer Glentworth UK. We do laser marking on their stainless steel products for their tier 1 manufacturers of the aerospace industry. The stringent regulations and requirement for comprehensive maintenance records, the ability to trace individual components throughout the life cycle is critical. All of which means that precision, reliability and traceability are paramount.
This is where laser marking has emerged as a robust solution, a permanent mark and probably most importantly a non contact marking process. Laser marking stainless steel is an industry standard and in this particular case study you can see repeatability of the laser marking.
These components are marked on our inhouse 70 watt SPI Fiber system with a f-180 F-theta lens, the marking process of these particular examples can vary depending on not only the amount of data contained within the marking requirements, but the required contrast of the laser marking.

Due to the various shapes of components as can be seen in the pictures, different jiggs are needed. Some components can be easily located in a simple corner jigg which standard shapes to be easily positioned enabling faster throughput of the parts and therefore lower cost for the customer. These marks are repeatable to a greater accuracy than 0.1mm. For better tolerances and for more detailed parts, separate bespoke jigs can be made and used by ourselves.

These stainless steel parts are used in the aerospace industry and in particular aircraft parts. For more indepth information and to view all other offering at the customer please visit Glentworth UK
