Laser Engraving Near Findon on Sterling Silver & Gold – Anxious K8e
In this case study we visit our customer Anxious k8e. We currently do laser engraving on their range of Sterling Silver and Gold Jewelry parts. The range consists of a range of shapes and sizes of jewelry which Kate has created as part of her collection aimed at helping people, like herself, with anxiety – About Anxious k8e . The information that is marked on the product is motivational wording and product branding.
Both laser engraving silver and laser engraving gold is processed on our inhouse 70 watt SPI Fiber system with a f-180 F-theta lens, the marking process of these particular components varies depending on the artwork and can take between 3 and 20 seconds. It is a bit difficult to tell from the video as due to the reflective nature of Silver and Gold, it blinds the camera in the area of the actual mark. But the product is marked with a single heavy pass hatched pass with an outline to clean up and emphasis the mark.
For these parts a special jiggs were designed to orientate the jewelry to ensure that the artwork is exactly central to the jewelry and is in the correct orientation to the mounting holes on each shaped piece. Due to Silver and Gold being relatively soft metals, the jigg is made out of wood as to not damage the edges of the jewelry when inserting or removing from the jigg.
