Laser Marking Near Finchley on Powder Coated Metal Parts- Chilly’s Bottles
In this case study we visit our customer Chilly’s the Reusable Water Bottles Company. We laser marked on a variety of their chilly bottles. There are a wide variety of sizes, colours, and materials that Chilly’s offer their customers. Our task was to be part of their co-brand offering to customers. Due to the wide range of products and the wide array of personalisation that is possible with the laser engraving process, the information that can be seen in this case study is a few corporate logos and personalisation.
Depending on which type of Chilly’s product is being laser marked, we either use our inhouse 70 watt SPI Fiber system with a f-180 F-theta lens or our inhouse CO2 galvo system with a f-180 F-theta lens , the marking process of these particular examples can vary depending on the amount of data contained within the laser marking co-branding artwork. The laser mark is normally done with 2 passes, one to remove the powder costing and the other to clean up any primer that has been used.
As can be seen from the above images, the striking contrast of laser marking that can be achieved, not only on powder coated bottles, but also stainless steel bottles aswell.
For these a ‘V’ shaped jig with a backstop is used to locate the part. So the use of this jig is ideal as it has the required ‘V’ shape to centralise the product under the laser and a back stop to ensure that the bottles are laser marked in the same position on the complete clients order. For better tolerances or more detailed parts, separate bespoke jig can be made and used by ourselves.
