Laser Marking Near Hailsham on Stainless Steel – Tesouro Timepiece Ltd

In this case study we visit our customer Tesouro Timepiece. We currently do laser marking on a range of their limited edition watches. These can be made out of Stainless steel or Aluminium. Due to the range of watches and the limited edition nature of each bespoke watch design the laser marking varies widely in size, shape and design. We can show you an example below. The information contained in each design is mainly down to the specific collaboration that the customer has with their respective partners, so what is laser marked is mainly product branding, limited edition designs and personlisation.

These components are marked on our inhouse 20 watt SPI Fiber system with a f-160 F-theta lens, the marking process of these particular watches varies widely in time, as it depends entirely on the artwork that is required to be laser marked on the product.

The Stainless Steel product is laser marked with eight separate passes in order to establish the required contrast of black on stainless steel, you can see from the above video that the direction that the laser takes is 90 Degrees opposite on each pass. This is to provide sufficient contrast in multiple directions whilst looking at the mark in natural or fluorescent light.

The blackened Stainless Steel product is laser marked with just the 1 pass, as this give a sufficient contrast for the customer without spending too much time laser marking.
