Laser Marking Near Manchester on Aluminium – Protective Packaging Ltd

In this case study we visit our customer Protective Packaging Limited. We currently do laser marking on their Fahrenheit dials for their respective customers. The components are made out of Aluminium and are laser marked on their circumference. The information that is laser marked onto these products is an indicator mark and a temperature related to that line.

This component is marked on our inhouse flash lamp Nd:YAG laser system with a f-180 F-theta lens, due to the circumference marking a rotary jigg is used to locate each part to a datum, referenced of the product, in this case the grub screw mounting hole, it is then rotated and marked in a set sequence. The product is laser marked with two passes, this is produce the required depth to the laser mark and then a clean up pass to clean the edges and the base of the first mark.
